Abstract Densities and kinematic viscosities of binary mixtures for ethyl caprate with 1-propanol, 1-butanol, and 1-pentanol were measured at temperatures from 283.15 K to 318.15 K and at ambient pressure (0.1 MPa) over the entire composition range. Excess molar volumes and viscosity deviations of the mixtures were derived from the experimental data and correlated using the Redlich–Kister equation. In addition, viscosities were correlated using the McAllister three-body model, whereas densities were fitted to a third-order polynomial as a function of temperature and mole fraction.
