Abstract A polemic is given regarding the curve-fitting parameters for the Van’t Hoff and Yaws equations that were reported in the published paper by Noubigh and Akemi. For several of the binary solvent mixtures studied the reported curve-fitting parameters yielded Van’t Hoff equation mathematical representations that were far superior to the mathematical representations based on the Yaws equation. Based on the similarities between the mathematical forms of the Van’t Hoff and Yaws equations one would expect the Yaws equation to provide the better mathematical representation for the minimization criterion used in the curve-fit parameter determination.
