Abstract The experimental solubility data of stearic acid in the neat solvents, ethanol + water and ethyl acetate + ethanol binary solvent systems at the temperature range from 293.15 to 323.15 K have carefully been reanalyzed and some recommendations were proposed. Further computations are performed on the stearic acid solubility data by using some cosolvency models including CNIBS/R-K, modified Wilson, NRTL, Wilson, UNIQUAC, Yalkowsky, Jouyban-Acree, and Jouyban-Acree-van't Hoff models.

Keywords: water; stearic acid; solubility; ethyl acetate; acid solubility
