Abstract Flory’s statistical theory of pure liquids has been applied to sixteen pure ionic liquids for the first time. Surface tension (σ), sound speed (u), internal pressure (Pint), van der Waals constants (a & b), for these ionic liquids have been calculated at different temperature. Some of results obtained from this theory have been compared with the available experimental values. Quite satisfactory agreement has been achieved that demonstrate the applicability of Flory theory to ionic liquids.
