Abstract Presented here is a new porous Cu(II) metal-organic framework, namely [Cu(tdc)(H2O)]n·n(DMA) (1 H2tdc = thiophene-2,5-dicarboxylic acid, DMA = N,N′-dimethylacetamide), which was obtained by the self-assembly reaction of CuCl2 and H2tdc under solvothermal conditions.… Click to show full abstract

Abstract Presented here is a new porous Cu(II) metal-organic framework, namely [Cu(tdc)(H2O)]n·n(DMA) (1 H2tdc = thiophene-2,5-dicarboxylic acid, DMA = N,N′-dimethylacetamide), which was obtained by the self-assembly reaction of CuCl2 and H2tdc under solvothermal conditions. Single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis revealed that compound 1 features a 3D porous framework based on 1D chain structure subunits, and the 1D rhombohedral channels are occupied by the lattice DMA molecules. Gas adsorption studies reveal that this desolvated sample exhibit high uptake capacity for light hydrocarbons.
