Abstract Photocurable hydrogels enable simple and fast sol-gel transformation and have broad application prospects in biomedical research. In this paper, we report the development of photoinitiated polymerization of N-Vinyl-2-pyrrolidone (NVP) monomer to Polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) and interpenetrating network with silk fibroin macromolecular hydrogel. This novel hydrogel material has nearly 100% light transmission and excellent mechanical properties, which opens new possibilities in targeted drug delivery, tissue regeneration, cell encapsulation, bioprinting.
