Abstract What is the impact on child and family when they receive a diagnosis of craniostenosis? And what is the impact of surgery? What is the role of the clinical psychologist in accompanying the child and family, especially during hospital stay and surgery time? We present a few thoughts that help understand the psychological processes at work in case of craniostenosis, giving a little hint of the impact on the life of the child and family – which surgeons, preoccupied by more technical questions, sometimes tend to overlook.
