Abstract Referring professionals correctly diagnose urgent or emergent ocular conditions in 65.1% of referrals. Telephone triaging ophthalmology residents make the correct diagnosis in 69.9% of referrals. Both are more accurate when sight or life-threatening diagnoses are referred.
