Abstract In this paper, we explicitly demonstrate that general anisotropic (in our case dielectric magnetic anisotropic) medium supports ghost wave (non-uniform plane wave), that possess the characteristics of the both, propagating and evanescent wave. Solutions for ghost waves exist, below the threshold of tangent bifurcation in the dispersion diagram when the system dynamics are extended to higher dimension. Subsequently, we also indicate the ghost regions in the wavevector plane (phase space) of general anisotropic medium, within which these ghost waves can exist. As the name implies, general anisotropic is a general medium, therefore, previous case in which these ghost waves exist becomes a special case.
