Abstract Two solution processible yellow-emitting Ir complexes, namely Ir(2-Flfupy) 3 and (2-Flfupy) 2 Ir(acac), have been designed and synthesized by incorporating fluorene as a couple of furo[3,2- c ]pyridine to constitute the cyclometalated CˆN ligand. The incorporation of fluorene can endow them with not only good solution processibility, but also bright yellow phosphorescence peaked at 574 nm and 582 nm, respectively. The corresponding solution-processed device based on Ir(2-Flfupy) 3 achieves the best performance, revealing a promising EQE of 12.1% (34.2 cd/A) and CIE coordinates of (0.54, 0.45). The results indicate that furo[3,2- c ]pyridine Ir complexes have the great potential to develop efficient yellow phosphors suitable for solution process.
