Abstract The work deals with theoretical study of magnetic hyperthermia produced by a system of immobilized single-domain ferromagnetic particles under the action of an external oscillating magnetic field. New equation of dynamics of the particles mean magnetic moment is derived by using Fokker–Planck equation for a function of distribution over the moment orientations. Intensity of the heat production by the particle is calculated based on this equation. The results show that the traditionally used phenomenological Debye equations for the moment dynamics can lead to serious deviations of the calculated heat production from that, determined by using the detailed statistical approach.
