Abstract The present work explores the effect of deposition pressure on the magnetic field dependent optical properties of Mn doped BFO (BFMO) thin films utilizing the Surface Plasmon Resonance (SPR) tool. SPR technique is a highly sensitive tool appropriate for surface investigations. Pulsed laser deposition (PLD) technique was utilized for the growth of BFMO thin films by varying the deposition pressures on gold (Au) coated prisms for SPR measurements. Transverse Magneto-Optic Kerr Effect (TMOKE) configuration combined with SPR technique is effectively utilized to investigate the magneto-optic coupling in Mn doped BFO thin films for incident wavelength of 633 nm.
