Abstract Two new mexicanolide-type limonoids, trichiconnarones A ( 1 ) and B ( 2 ), along with six known analogues ( 3 – 8 ), were isolated from the fruits of Trichilia connaroides . The structures of 1 and 2 were elucidated by extensive spectroscopic methods and the known compounds were identified by comparisons their data with those reported in the literatures. All new compounds were evaluated for their anti-inflammatory activities via examining the inhibitory activity on nitric oxide (NO) production induced by lipopolysaccharide in mouse macrophage RAW 264.7 cells in vitro . Compounds 1 and 2 exhibited inhibitory effects with IC 50 values comparable to that of hydrocortisone.
