Abstract A new podocarpane type diterpenoid, aculeatusane A (1), and six known diterpenoids (2-7) were isolated from the whole plants of Celastrus aculeatus Merr. (Celastraceae). The structures were identified based on the HRESIMS and NMR spectroscopic data. All diterpenoids were isolated from C. aculeatus for the first time. Antiviral activity assay showed that aculeatusane A (1) is active against A/GZ/GIRD07/09 (H1N1) with the selectivity index (SI) of 6.75 ± 4.38.
