Abstract Two new prenylated flavanonols, named as fortunones A (1) and B (2), and one new geranylated flavanone, named as fortunones C (3), were isolated from the fruits of Paulownia fortunei (Seem.) Hemsl. Their structures were elucidated distinctly according to their UV, MS, NMR, and CD spectra. Structural modifications on prenyl and geranyl groups in these isolated compounds were uncommon for Paulownia flavanones. Only compounds 1 and 3 showed weak antioxidant effect on human umbilical vein endothelial cells injury induced by H2O2.
