Abstract The thermal stability of the extraction system “30% TBP – Isopar-M – HNO3” in isochoric heating mode was investigated. The starting temperatures of thermal explosions, their duration and intensity for the studied system were determined in the frames of the following parameters: temperature range – from 70 to 110 °C, concentration of nitric acid – 4.3, 8.2 and 12 mol L−1 and dose of irradiation – 0.5, 1 and 2 MGy. It was found that the evidence of exothermic effect indicated the presence of intense oxidative reactions in the gas phase and was observed in the thermolysis of the two-phase system “30% TBP – Isopar-M – 8.2 mol L−1 HNO3” with irradiation to a dose of 1 and 2 MGy of extraction system “30% TBP – Isopar-M″ at 90 °C.
