Abstract In this paper, the model is developed using Modelica language to simulate the operation of recompression S–CO2 Brayton cycle. The transient simulations of the Brayton cycle operations with different control strategies under the condition of thermal power drop are conducted. The results in terms of the Brayton cycles’ performance show that the adjustment characteristics are different from strategy to strategy, and low pressure at main compressor inlet as well as excessive pressure fluctuation may occur problematically during the adjustment process. A joint adjustment method as a control strategy is thus developed to solve such problems. In this method, two single control strategies are balanced, making the adjustment process smoother and more efficient.
