Under hydrothermal conditions, the simple self-assembly of Ni 2+ , H 2 C 2 O 4 and N 2 H 4 created a new 3-D Ni 2+ coordination polymer, [Ni(C 2 O 4 )(N 2 H 4 )]·H 2 O (C 2 O 4 2− = oxalate, N 2 H 4 = hydrazine) 1 , in which C 2 O 4 2− ligands link Ni 2+ ions into a left-hand helical Ni(C 2 O 4 ) chain, while N 2 H 4 extends the Ni(C 2 O 4 ) chains into a 3-D network with a 10 3 topology. A magnetic susceptibility study indicates that between the neighboring Ni 2+ centers, there exist antiferromagnetic interactions.
