Abstract This publication presents a new chromium(III) complex with 5-aminopyridine-2-carboxylate anions. The title compound was characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis, potentiometric and conductometric titrations. The oligomerization reaction of the 2-chloro-2-propen-1-ol alcohol was carried out using the title complex as a catalyst for the reaction. The resulting product was examined by MALDI-TOF MS and infrared spectroscopy. The catalytic activity of the complex in the oligomerization reaction of 2-chloro-2-propen-1-ol was determined.
