Abstract In recent years, organic-inorganic hybrid materials prepared by the sol-gel method have gained considerable attention in various fields such as the optic and electromagnetic field, as well as in biomedical sciences. In this study, hybrid polymers composed of poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG) and titania with different molecular weights were prepared using the sol-gel method. Differential mobility analyzer (DMA), small-angle X-ray scattering (SAXS), and tensile test were performed to investigate the bulk structure of these hybrid materials. The results revealed that the encapsulated titania was not completely covered by the silica alkoxide, but was partially exposed in the matrix when PEG2900 was used. In addition, the results revealed that the exposure of titania accelerated the accumulation of hydroxyapatite from the CaTiO3 in the biomimetic liquid simulated body fluid (SBF).
