Abstract Double-side incremental forming of pure aluminum sheets was performed, and formed shapes were compared with those formed by single point incremental forming. Pure aluminum sheets were used for specimens and tools made of high speed steel with a diameter of 6 mm was employed for forming. The specimen sheet was formed into a frustum of pyramid shape. The cross-sectional shapes at the beginning of forming by double-side incremental forming were closer to the objective shape than that by double-side incremental forming. However, cross-sectional shape at the latter of forming by single point incremental forming became closer to the objective one.
