Abstract Besides volatile markets and shorter process life cycles, digitalization is one of the most important influences companies have to deal with in the next years. Changeability is the basic requirement to stay successful in times of unpredictable transitions. This paper shows an approach of how to increase the ability to change in front of the challenges of digitalization. The focus is on organizational aspects. The major extension refers to communication issues, based on an approach of social system theory. The research uses the example of automotive industry.
