Introduction/Background To observe the effect of adding the patient support on the psychological and activity of daily living of patients with early spinal cord injury on the basis of conventional rehabilitation intervention and psychological therapy. Material and method 60 patients with early spinal cord injury were randomly divided into group A (conventional physical therapy), group B (conventional physical therapy + psychotherapy), group C (conventional physical therapy + psychotherapy + patient support). Each group has 20 patients. The Hamilton Anxiety Scale (HAMA), the Hamilton Depression Rating Scale (HAMD), the Modified Barthel Index (MBI), Spinal Cord Independence Measure III (SCIM III) were used for evaluation of the three groups before and 6 weeks after treatment. Using PRO-KIN Computer-based Proprioception Test and Training System to measure sitting peripheral area. Results After 6 weeks of treatment, HAMA score, HAMD score, MBI score and SCIM III score of group A and B are both have statistically significant than before (P  Conclusion Patient support combined with conventional rehabilitation intervention and psychological therapy of early spinal cord injury patients is a worthy promotion as better effect on mental health, the ability of activity of daily living, functional independence and sitting position balance.
