Abstract In this article, Buckingham’s π-theorem is applied to model electrospinning and electrospraying to find the fiber or particle diameter as a function of Taylor’s cone height, solution’s electrical conductivity, viscosity, surface tension, operating flow rate, and electric field intensity. The derived expressions elucidate how the fiber or particles diameter varies as a function of the process parameters and liquid properties.
