Abstract There is currently no unified theory for describing ferrofluid flow under a rotating magnetic field. Spin diffusion theory has been broadly studied. But it has been limited to scenarios of magnetic fields with low intensity, due to the approximations required for the analytical solution. SpinUpFlowDescriptor is a MATLAB software that solves the ferrohydrodynamic problem, using finite difference equations. Our software does not require simplifications that limit its validity. So, it can be used for different field intensities, as shown in the experiments. Moreover, our data depict a saturation phenomenon for the velocity profiles, previously unreported for the spin-up geometry.
