Abstract A monolayer or bilayer MoS 2 is placed in a periodic magnetic field with zero average amplitude produced by the skyrmion lattice. We study band structure and electron distribution influenced by periodic magnetic field. The periodic field leads to the formation of a series of minibands separated by gaps for monolayer and bilayer MoS 2 . Under the influence of magnetic field, electrons form various periodic distribution for the different quantum degree of freedom, producing polarization in valleys, energy bands and layers. The layer pseudospin can be controlled by adding a interlayer potential energy.
