Abstract An interaction of a moving polaron with a stationary trap is considered in the continuum approximation. Different scenarios — wave function capture and transmission, are possible depending on the polaron velocity. Intermediate cases can also occur. Numerical modelling was carried out for the polaron velocity varying by 3 orders of magnitude. At low polaron velocities, the process is adiabatic and the trap does not capture a charge. At high velocities, the interaction of a polaron with a trap is a highly non-adiabatic and the polaron passes through the trap. At intermediate velocities, the probability of charge capture/transmission oscillates with velocity.
