Abstract The purpose of this study is to assess the existing OSH condition in Global land scape and Ethiopian manufacturing industries to introduce unique OSH improvement factors. This study also aims to identify effect of poor workplace safety and health in manufacturing Industries. The workplace safety and health issues were considered very weak in global and Ethiopian manufacturing industry. It is learnt that from previous studies and Ethiopian manufacturing industries case, there were weak OSH priority consideration in workplaces. The organizations are considering the workplace of manufacturing industry as less priority for improvement of the productivity notwithstanding the participant elements are human and machines which effect their working conditions. Therefore, this study collected data using primary and secondary sources to meet the objective. These data were obtained from questionnaires, workplace site observation, interviews, reports, industry manuals, journals and records. These data helped to rationalize the identified OSH improvement factors and how they affect manufacturing industry workplace safety. Data analysis finding indicated that the existing OSH management practices in manufacturing industries are identified major safety and health problems employees encountered due to the nature of the work in the manufacturing industries, assessed OSH hazards causing factors which affected workers’ productivity and wellbeing. The research finding also revealed that the problems related to OSH organizational problems in Ethiopian manufacturing industries are resulted from the absence of knowledge transfer, collaboration and absence of policy, old technology utilizations and top management commitments. The finding has attempted to recommend the basic issues to be considered in the finding for the workplace environment improvement for the manufacturing industries. The factors which are identified and discussed in this research address the practicality of the novel factor identification and focus points. In conclusion, the factors like knowledge diffusion, management system, collaboration, technology utilization policies and correlation variables are included in the finding.
