Abstract Curriculum development is one of the most important roles of the nurse educator. Developing and maintaining a nursing curriculum that is contemporary and effectively prepares the nursing student to achieve the program's end-of-program student learning outcomes is essential for graduation. An effective curriculum assists the students in preparing for the licensure examination as well as their nursing career. Standard 4 Curriculum of the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) Standards and Criteria can assist nursing faculty in the development and maintenance of the curriculum.
