Abstract The overall purpose of the study was to compare the mean Assessment Technologies Institute Comprehensive Assessment test scores between students taught using collaborative testing (CT) versus those using traditional pedagogy. A descriptive, comparative, and nonequivalent study design of 35 baccalaureate nursing students enrolled in the last nursing essential course. The finding showed that CT has short-term benefit on retention; however, it does not improve long-term retention among nursing students.
