Abstract Synthesis of the C1–C13 fragment of eribulin mesylate has been accomplished. It features a highly stereoselective construction of a trans-dihydropyran framework using three key reactions: (1) Sharpless epoxidation, (2) regioselective ring opening, and (3) olefin metathesis.
