In a recent study, Tracy et al. observed that Tau interacts with mitochondrial and presynaptic vesicle proteins in human iPSC-derived neurons. Tau with mutations that cause neurodegeneration has decreased mitochondrial interactions. This elegant interactome mapping with supporting human brain data paves the way to a better understanding of Tau pathology and future Tau-directed therapeutics.
