Carcinoid heart disease occurs in over 50% of patients with carcinoid syndrome and may be the initial presentation in up to 20% of patients. A 74 year-old Caucasian female with no medical history presented with one month of worsening fatigue, dyspnea, orthopnea and bilateral lower extremity edema.
