Ming Li, Barton M. Sharp, and Donald D. Bergh continue the discussion on the rigour of empirical research from the perspective of verifiability of reported findings in published articles. Their analysis of a sample of MOR articles rings a relatively positive note in terms of the three statistical verification tests conducted, with further suggestions for improvement in line with recently instituted MOR editorial policies. This article advances, and further invites, self-reflection of research and reporting practices that would make social science less vulnerable to its critics.
