This book, nicely printed and well-illustrated, with numerous colour photographs, is a heavily revised and updated version of Y. Er Scarborough’s Ph.D. dissertation completed at Cornell University in 1991 on the funerary monuments of Rough Cilicia and Isauria during the Hellenistic and Roman periods. The core of the thesis is three regional survey chapters (3. Rock-cut tombs and sarcophagi of Rough Cilicia; 4. Monumental and built tombs of Rough Cilicia; and 5. Funerary monuments in Isauria), with further chapters of preliminaries (1), historical overview (2), and conclusions (6).
