Abstract Herein, we present the first case of dilated cardiomyopathy due to premature constriction of the ductus arteriosus. A fetal echocardiography showed narrowing in the ductus arteriosus, and colour Doppler flow mapping could not identify blood flow through the ductus. Neonatal echocardiography revealed a left ventricular dilated cardiomyopathy, and the cardiomyopathy had fully resolved at 6 months of age.
