This study employed a rotating packed bed (RPB) to enhance the absorption process of NOx and SO2 into Na2SO3 solution with the preoxidation by ozone. The absorption performance of NOx and SO2 was evaluated in terms of removal efficiency (ηR) and overall volumetric mass transfer coefficient (KGa) under various operating conditions including O3/NOx molar ratio (MR), rotation speed of RPB (N), gas–liquid ratio (G/L), Na2SO3 concentration (CNa2SO3), inlet SO2 concentration (CSO2), solution pH, and oxygen concentration (CO2). The effect laws of the operating conditions on the ηR and KGa of both NOx and SO2 have been obtained. The results showed that ηR values of NOx and SO2 can reach up to 90 and 99%, respectively. Therefore, this process with the advantages of high efficiency, small size, and simple process for simultaneous absorption NOx and SO2 exhibits a wide application prospect in the field of flue gas purification.
