Naphtha is an important feedstock in producing both fuels and chemicals. To optimize the product distribution of the naphtha conversion processes, it is necessary to obtain the molecular composition of the naphtha feedstock. Because of limited measurements, molecular reconstruction methods that predict unknown compositions by known bulk properties are widely applied in industry. All these molecular reconstruction techniques have to compare the calculated property with the measured property. However, the form of comparison has not been fully explored. The current researches either put all of the comparisons as constraints to be satisfied or put all of them as deviations to be minimized. The combination of the two has not been explored yet, while this is the object of this paper. Different forms of gamma distribution of the compositions have also been compared and the gamma distribution against the carbon number is found more accurate and more efficient than that against the boiling point. The results of 50...
