for an extended period after auto-HCT in our study. Nevertheless, our results suggest that virus-infected patients require long-term follow-up care after auto-HCT. This study has certain limitations. The details regarding pretransplant chemotherapy regimens and post-relapse therapy after auto-HCT were unavailable. The exclusion of cytogenetic risk may in fl uence the transplant outcomes. Moreover, we did not analyze data on the distinction between previous and chronic HBV infections using antiviral drugs, reactivation, and cirrhosis. In conclusion, this registry-based study suggests that OS after auto-HCT was comparable between HBV- and HCV-negative patients and HBV-positive patients with myeloma. Notwithstand- ing, HCV positivity might adversely impact OS in myeloma patients undergoing auto-HCT.
