In this Letter, the authors derive the moment generating function-based BER expressions for binary phase shift keying and M-QAM signal for OFDM systems over α – κ – μ fading. This fading model is known as the generalised fading model because it can accurately characterise all the well known small-scale fading models given in the literature. In order to validate the derived BER expressions, analytical and simulated BER curves for a variety of modulation formats at different values of fading parameters are also shown in the letter.
