This Letter presents the design of a frequency-selective rasorber that selectively absorbs undesired (out-of-band) signals and selectively transmits desired (in-band) signals by using planar resistor technology without lumped elements. To implement the selective absorption characteristic on the upper surface, a lossy layer was implemented in the proposed structure by using a nickel-phosphorus metal alloy-based resistor–conductor material. Furthermore, stable transmissive/absorptive performance against polarisation and incidence angle was implemented by laminating a quarter-wavelength thickness of dielectric spacer and bandpass type frequency selective surface together. The resulting design was verified through experimental measurements.
