It has recently been proposed that both dark matter (DM) and dark energy (DE) can be treated as a single component when they are considered in the context of a polytropic DM fluid with thermodynamical content. Depending on only one free parameter, that is, the polytropic exponent, − 0.103 k ph , of the form k ph 3+ n s eff , with the associated scalar spectral index, n s eff , being equal to n s eff = 0.970. This theoretical value reproduces the corresponding observational Planck result, that is, n s obs = 0.968 ± 0.006.
