Hexagon-shaped atmospheric circulation around the north pole of Saturn is modeled by means of the Cauchy–Poisson free boundary problem corresponding to large-scale perturbations of the incompressible perfect atmospheric structure that extend coherently around a full longitude circle. The problem is to determine the unknown free boundary representing the path that is followed by an atmospheric stream. Since the free boundary representing the atmospheric path is unknown, the atmospheric stream is confined in an unknown domain. The objective is to find the inverse conformal mapping of the unknown free-boundary domain onto the domain with fixed boundaries.
