Interdisciplinary workup (radiology, infectious diseases) is usually performed before surgery and antiparasitic therapy is started before surgery in consideration of intraoperative spilling and a possible anaphylactic reaction, which is caused by the spilling of fluid from the hydatid cyst [7]. The prevalence of anaphylactic shock during surgery varies among studies and might be around 2% [8].
