AbstractThis paper aims to analyze the results of compression tests conducted on fabric-reinforced cementitious matrix (FRCM)–confined concrete elements. The analysis is developed using a database of 152 compression tests on FRCM-wrapped, plain concrete cylindrical specimens assembled from the literature. The database is first used to analyze the influence of the relevant mechanical and geometric parameters on the structural response of the confined specimens. Then, empirical design–oriented models to predict the peak strength and the corresponding strain of the FRCM-wrapped specimens are proposed and verified with the experimental database through a best-fit analysis of the collected data. The performance of the proposed models is also compared to that of some existing models (which have been proposed in both the literature and codes) by using the database.
