Ellipsoidal BGK model (ES-BGfK model) is a model equation for the Boltzmann equation designed to give correct a Prandtl number in the Navier-Stokes limit. In this paper, we consider the existence of classical solutions and their asymptotic behavior for the ellipsoidal BGK model in the whole space when the initial data is a small perturbation of a global Maxwellian.Ellipsoidal BGK model (ES-BGfK model) is a model equation for the Boltzmann equation designed to give correct a Prandtl number in the Navier-Stokes limit.
