In their article, Yoon et al. ( 1 ) in the study on gut microbiota from the monozygotic twin pairs discordant for multiple scle - rosis (MS), identified two bacterium species, Eisenbergiella tayi and Lachnoclostridium that potentially could be causa - tively related to this neurological disease. Interestingly, these bacteria were found in the ileal samples obtained during endoscopy, but not in the fecal material. Although this research should be considered very preliminary, further stud - ies on microbiota of the small intestine in MS patients seem very promising.
