ABSTRACT Neutral desorption-extractive electrospray ionization mass spectrometry was used for the direct, rapid, and quantitative determination of chlorpyrifos in honey without pretreatment. Under the optimized conditions, the limit of detection was 1.64 ng/mL with a linear dynamic range from 10 to 1,000 ng/mL and relative standard deviations from 1.97 to 6.14%. The recoveries of fortified honey samples at 50 and 500 ng/mL were 82.02 and 109.28% with relative standard deviations of 4.02 and 4.34%, respectively. This protocol offers high sensitivity, good precision, rapid analysis, and high specificity in a complex matrix.
