Abstract MnZn ferrites with large length-diameter ratio has been successfully fabricated via the viscous plastic processing-extrusion method by using MnZn ferrite powders and organic additives as raw materials. The structural properties were strongly influenced by post annealing process. The rod sintered at 1350 °C for 3 h showed advanced overall properties. It has good crystallization properties according to the XRD analysis results. The obtained rod has a very dense and uniform crystal structure according to its SEM images. It also exhibits advantage soft magnetic properties with the permeability and saturation magnetization is 2554 and 490 mT at 25 °C (f ≦ 10 k, H = 1200 A/m). At the temperature of 100 °C, the losses at the frequencies of 400 kHz and 500 kHz are 4500 kW/m3 and 1180 kW/m3, respectively. Which can well meet the application of related devices.
