ABSTRACT The study was successfully carried out in the presence of UV light using TiO2 and H2O2 system to purify the real textile discharge from tri-dyes namely Yellow 145(Y145), Reactive Red 195(RR195), Blue 222(Blue222). This work was based on Central Composite Design (CCD) to find out the optimum levels of four factors, namely, pH, TiO2, H2O2 and irradiation time for the effective removal of tri-dyes and chemical oxygen demand (COD) from the effluent. Analysis of variance (ANOVA) of the obtained data found out the values of regression coefficient (R2) for the dyes in the order of 49.6%, 58.3%, 83.6%, for RR195, Blue222 and Y145, respectively. At the optimum levels of the factors, the colour removals were greater than 87% and the COD removal was found to be 85%. Afterwards, the electrical energy per order (EEO) was also determined. Therefore, the treatment was proved as an alternative purifier method for the real textile discharge.
